Nepal the land of misty Himalayas, the land of gods and goddesses, the birth place of Buddha is also home to eight of the fourteen highest peaks above 8000 meters in the world including Mt. Everest.
Nepal situated between two giant nations India and China is a landlocked country with its own identity. Nepal, an independent sovereign country which never had any foreign domination throughout its history, is bestowed with rich bio diversity owing to its unique geographical position. The elevation of the country ranges from 60 m above the sea level to the highest point in the world that too within a distance of 150 kms. One can experience the climate condition from subtropical to arctic, a cultural diversity and ethnic and sub-ethnic group that speak over 70 languages and dialects.

Located between 800 4' and 88 12' east longitude and between 26 22' and 30 27' north latitude, Nepal extends along the south slope of the Himalayas.

People - Nepal is a country of ethnic varities. There are about 36 tribes living in different regions. Limbu, Rai, Tamang, Gurung, Magar and Thakali and other Tibeto-Burman speaking Mongolian people live in the middle hills. Terai are inhabited by the Brahman, Rajput, Tharu, Majhi, Rajbashi etc. The midlands are inhabited by Tibeto-Burman and Indo- Aryan peoples, such as Brahman, Chhetri and Newar.
Official Language - Nepali.
Religion - All reliogions are equally respected.

System of Government - Federal Democratic Republic state .
The Main Industry - Agriculture, Carpet, Tourism are the main trade.

Time Difference - Nepal is 5 hours 45 minutes ahead of GMT. There is 3hours 15 minutes time difference between Japan and Nepal. 12 Noon in Japan is 8:45 A.M. in Nepal. Note that time in Nepal is 15 minutes ahead of India.
Climate - Climate in Nepal is mainly divided into the rainy season and the dry season. The monsoon period is from June to September and the dry season is from October to May. As it does not rain in the dry season, this period is good for traveling. From November to February the Himalayas are not covered with fog, so it can be called the best season for traveling. Approximately from the middle of May it becomes cloudy and starts to rain. During this season the greenery become rich in color and becomes more attractive than that in the dry season.

IMMIGRATION
Single entry visa for 60 days can be obtained from any of the Royal Nepalese Embassies abroad or the consulate offices. Visa can also be obtained from any of the entry points including the Tribhuvan International Airport upon arrival.
If you already have visa before arrival, please line up in PASSANGER WITH VISA counter. You are required to submit your passport and the disembarkation card duly filled.
If you have not obtained the visa, please go for the PASSANGER WITHOUT VISA counter and submit the passport, disembarkation card, visa application form with 2 copies 5cm×5cm photo.
